Halloween In GermanyAfter spending most of the year abroad, we had our first US show in a while. We got great food and fireworks and the chance to sing for our cultural peers. It was so nice to be able to speak with our vernacular, idioms, and accent (and be understood). Our homecoming.

We then bounced down to Chattanooga, TN for an appearance at NACA South to showcase our group. The best part of this show is that we found ourselves in the South. After singing “Georgia” I think Jamal might have earned a few new Facebook followers! It was a nice little city, but again we had to dip.

I drove a car through the night with Maria up to DC where I got to spend some time with my sister at her engagement party. I’m so proud of her and so glad that she found Javy. They seem very happy together and our families get along very well.

Up to Rochester and Nazareth College for our second annual show at the college. Our show this time was much improved after a year of polishing our voices and improving our act. It was great to come back and have a somewhat redeeming performance.

After a couple of weeks off we were on the road again, back to Germany. We were asked to perform for Halloween, including opening for Lou Bega. Well, closing I guess. After his performance we took the stage and started off the Halloween party. Night times in Deutschland always approach “rage-er” status and the nights at Etage Eins are nothing short of a shit show. Glass on the floor and punitively loud music make the alcohol nearly a requirement. But you participate because, you know, you can! In fact, some of our best nights in Germany are a little hazy!

The next months of our live were slated to be in Myrtle Beach where we’d write an album. This last hurrah before nosing the grindstone was well spent, and I know we’ll be back soon!
