Richard Robot in BerlinHell yeah! Berlin is such a badass city! I love it here. We were joined by some very close friends from Germany for this show and it turned into a crazy night. The only way to pull that off on tour is to have a full day after a show without travel and without a concert to recover. And that is exactly how the schedule panned out.
This is our 3rd time to Berlin (2nd time performing), and last time we were here, we met Angelo that the US Embassy. He is helping make this tour possible, but more importantly has become a close friend of the group. He brought his girlfriend and a few girls that work for him and we brought them all back stage to hang out before the show.
We also had Matthias, Fabse, and their colleague from EP join us as well. We have a long history of partying with them and it started back stage as we drank a little bit and hung out before signing autographs.
The show, by the way, was amazing. We performed at the O2 Arena where a couple months before, Jamal and I pointed and said “someday soon we’ll be performing there.” They let us project our name and a little video on the screens. It’s a small thing but it should help more people get in touch with us as we perform. After all, we’d like to make the most of this amazing tour!
After the show we went out to some night club and planned to meet our EP friends. When we got there, it was a little tough to get in…but the girls with us and our badges from the show helped quite a bit! We ended up missing our EP friends sadly. They basically make any night better and have done so much to help our group.
We met them when we first started performing at Europa Park and ever since then they have broken every rule to help us succeed and thrive. It’s amazing because they didn’t have to as part of their job—in fact they’ve pulled strings and asked personal favors on our behalf and we’ll be forever indebted to them as older brothers and close friends. Truly some of the best people you could call friends.
The night, however, partied on as we danced and drank and had a hell of a time with Angelo and his whole crew. A long sleep at the hotel and gourmet pizza the next day put a great button on Berlin as we prepared to head north to hit up Scandinavia. Can’t wait to get back to this place!
